High Road thru Truchas, N.M.

Oil Painters of America Annual Exhibition

There are two main routes from Santa Fe to Taos. One is called "The Low Road" and travels along the Rio Grande Valley, the other is a more scenic route called "The High Road."

Truchas is a little village on "The High Road." It sits in the mountains between Santa Fe and Taos, and is known for its tin roofs which gleam in the hot Southwestern sun. This painting is looking towards Truchas Peaks.

"Storm over Truchas Peaks" is another painting of this area.
